I am the second son of Judine & Nina Rognss. Upon my graduation from Emmons High School, I entered the military (Army Engineers). Upon my return, I attended and graduated from Waldorf, Luther and Colorado State University. While attending Luther College I met and married Alice Struxness in August, 1951.
We have three children: Scott (professional musician / Nashville, TN), Kristin (Nursing, Federal Prison, Rochester, MN) and Jason (salesman for Gibson Guitar Corp, Nashville, TN).
Grandchildren: Laynie, Angeleigh and Nicole. Stepchildren: Lori Corace Emmons, Marc Emmons, and Stepgrandchild; Cassie Emmons.
Alice and I began our life together in Mindoro, WI. Alice was an elementary teacher and I was an Athletic director, coach and high school instructor. In 1953, we moved to Elmore, MN., in the same capacities. In 1959 we moved to Owatonna, MN. Alice continued teaching Blooming Prairie and later as a private voice teacher. I carried on as a coach and headed the physical education department for Owatonna Public Schools. I retired from education in 1984, having served 33 years, became a real estate agent and retired in November 2003. Alice passed away in 2000 from Alzheimer’s Disease.
In a twist of fate, I attended a reunion in Emmons in 2002 and got reacquainted with and old high school interest: Elaine (Farley) Emmons. We had dated in high school and now years later we were both widowed. We married in August 2003. Elaine was an Emmons graduate, and later a resident of Wells, MN. She retired from the insurance and banking industry and organist duties at Good Shepard Lutheran Church
We are retired and reside at 2180 Richway Lane, Owatonna, MN and winter in Sun City, AZ
