Olga (Rogness), 1895-1978, & Andrew Davidson, 1896-1979

  • Olga, the 7th in the Rogness family of 14 (b. 1895) was born near Thor, Iowa.
  • In 1915, the Ole Rogness family moved to a farm west of Emmons, Mn.
  • Olga trained to become an R.N. and graduated from nurses training at the Moe Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. Dakota.
  • Olga met Andrew Davidson of Emmons, Mn. and they were married in 1925.
  • Olga contracted tuberculosis
  • Relatives recall her spending time in Cannon Falls (where her lung was collapsed), Colorado, and Albuquerque, New Mexico to regain her health.
  • Olga and Andrew had no children of their own. Andrew’s cousin’s boys, Richard, Duane, and Odin stayed with them often after their mother died. There were nieces and nephews who spent their time in Andrew and Olga’s home. Tagging along with Andrew doing chores on the farm was great fun. Grand and even great grand nieces and nephews felt this love and spiritual concern Andrew and Olga had for children.
  • They farmed near Emmons, Northwood, and Lake Mills before retiring in Lake Mills, Ia.
  • They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1975. Olga died in 1978 and Andrew in 1979. Their funerals were held in Zoar Lutheran Brethren Church and are buried in Lime Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Emmons, Mn.
