Rudolph & Sarah lived in Texas and were Missionaries to the Spanish Community. They raised four children, Rudolph Jr, Joan, Lois, and Paul.
Both Sarah and Rudolph are buried at Lime Creek Cemetery one mile west of Emmons, MN on the state line road. Several other of Sarah family members are also buried in this Cemetery.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday April 14, 1959 at Zoar Lutheran Brethren Church in Lake Mills, IA for Mrs. Rudolph (Sara) Johnson age 52.
Sara Johnson wife of the Rev Rudolph Johnson, died Friday afternoon in San Antonia, TX of a brain tumor, She and the Rev Johnson had served the past 17 years at San Antonio as missionaries to the Mexican mission. It was her joy to be serving in the work of the Lord.
The Rev Herman Engebretson officiated. Burial took place at the Lime Creek Lutheran cemetery west of Emmons, MN, A nephew of Mrs. Johnson, the Rev Richard Rogness, Faribault, MN and the Rev William Berg, Minneapolis, a former pastor, took part in the service.
Mrs. Johnson was born April 26, 1906, at Thor, IA, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Rogness. Sara was married to Mr. Johnson in September of 1925 at Lansing, MI. They lived at Ford Dodge, IA and at Rock Island, IL about 17 years before going into the Mexican Mission work.
Sara is survived by her Husband, two sons, two daughters. They are Rudolph Jr. of San Antonio, TX,; Paul Johnson, 14 a student at Canton, SD; Joann Groves, Alexandria, PA; Lois Chapman, San Antonio, TX. There are nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are five brothers and five sisters. They include Alfred and Henry Rogness of Joice, IA; Judine Rogness, Emmons, MN; Alvin Rogness, Fort Dodge, IA; Christ Rogness, Eagle Grove, IA; Mrs. Susan Risdall and Mrs Dan Groat, Fort Dodge, IA; Mrs Andrew Davidson, Lake Mills, IA; Mrs Oscar Bidne, Emmons, MN; and Mrs Clarence Sletten, Alber Lea, MN.
